About the

Rutland Sportsman’s Club

A private – members only, non profit organization, the Rutland Sportsman’s Club holds many events each year that are open to the public.   One of the more popular of events is the Annual Game Dinner held in the spring.  The annual golf tournament is also popular.  The club hosts many events for it’s members and their families.  A few of the events the Rutland Sportsman’s Club hosts for its members each year – The Kid’s Fishing Derby, A Big Buck / Big Doe Contest, women only shooting events, and more.  Some of the events held throughout the year that are open to the public are the annual 2 day Ice Fishing Derby, seasonal trap and archery programs,  MA Hunter Safety Classes, MA LTC/FID classes, MA Boater Safety class, live music events and more.  The clubhouse has a full service bar that is open daily, a billiards table and other games and a large function hall available for use by members and available for rent for certain functions.  We also support our local Police Department and allow them access to our indoor pistol range and outdoor rifle/pistol range for training. RSC happily supports all of our local first responder agencies, as well as the local scouts, and allows them use our facilities when ever possible.
The Rutland Sportsman’s Club welcomes prospective new members who are interested in joining the organization.  Especially families with children that are interested in furthering our mission as a Sportsman’s Club.  Our mission, as an organization, is to pass along the passion and knowledge of sportsmanship to the next generation!  Download a current membership application, a link can be found at the top or bottom of this site. Or stop in to the clubhouse to obtain one in person. The current initiation and membership rates are listed on the application.  Prospective members must meet the basic requirement as listed on the application. All members are required to volunteer a few hours to the club each year.  This is not hard to do as there are many events held throughout the year.  Obtaining 3 sponsor signatures, if you don’t currently know any club members, isn’t as hard as you might think.   Stop in to the clubhouse in the afternoon, knock on the back door that faces the fishing pond, explain to who ever answers that you are interested in possibly becoming a member.  Meet and talk with a few members.  The rest will fall into place.

Serving Our Community Since 1932

Located at 75 Pleasantdale Road, Rutland, Massachusetts, 01543.  The Rutland Sportsman’s Club has been serving the central Massachusetts  sportsman since 1932.  A private club that features many amenities for its members and their guests.

The property features  a beautiful and spacious club house.  The original building, having once resided on the shores of Long Pond, has changed quite a bit since being moved to it’s current location in 1932.   The main level of the clubhouse provides separate restrooms for men and women, a full service bar area with a billiards table and a dart board, plenty of seating and 3 large screen televisions.  Also on the main level is the function hall which is available for a variety of uses.  The lower level of the clubhouse provides a kitchen area, a lower lever bar area and a 50′ indoor pistol range.

Outside of the clubhouse, the property offers a 2 lane horseshoe pit area, a BBQ pavilion with a large smoker, a fishing pond, a large aviary for raising pheasants, a seasonal outdoor 3d archery range and a 100 yard firing range.

Want to Join The Club?

Click on the “DOWNLOAD MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION” button to the right or stop by the clubhouse any day after 3 PM to obtain a membership application and get more information on what is required to apply to be a member of the Rutland Sportsman’s Club.  Once the membership application has been filled out, visit the clubhouse after 3 PM and meet some members.  You will need to obtain three active member sponsorship signatures (these signatures are required but they are not hard to get).  Once the membership application is completed, and the appropriate fee has been paid, your application needs to be posted for at least two weeks before a General Meeting where it will be voted on by the members in attendance.
